Sports Areas

Sport at the Universidad del Mar is practiced as a means of distraction from the different academic preoccupations of the students.
Presently in UMAR only the Puerto Angel campus counts on sports installations:

• A gymnasium with a weight-lifting area, chess tables, boxing equipment, and ping pong tables, all of which are available to the university community during established hours of operation.
• A multiple usage court which serves for rapid football, volleyball, and basketball. These sports are promoted through intramural tournaments.

Furthermore, the university has representative teams in different sports such as football, tae kwon do, ping pong, and rapid football. These teams participate in regional tournaments to which they are invited.
The sports teams are made up of the most talented individuals to come out of a selection process on each of the three campuses.
